Ethics & Acceptable Use

We build realistic mockups for legitimate creative, educational and design work — and we draw a firm line at deception.

The short version

Mock Screenshots generates fictional mock screenshots for parody, memes, education, media-literacy teaching, design mockups, prototyping and fiction. Using our output to deceive a real person for gain or harm is strictly prohibited and, in most jurisdictions, illegal.

Permitted uses

  • Parody, satire and comedy content.
  • Chat-story and narrative videos where the audience understands it's fiction.
  • Teaching digital literacy — including showing students how fakes are made and spotted.
  • UI/UX mockups, portfolio pieces, ad creative and product prototypes.
  • Message threads inside novels, scripts and screenplays.

Prohibited uses

  • Fraud or financial deception — fake payment confirmations, proof-of-transfer, or any screenshot used to obtain money or goods.
  • Impersonation — passing off a fabricated conversation as a real one from a specific, identifiable person.
  • Defamation or harassment — fabricating messages to damage someone's reputation or to threaten, bully or intimidate.
  • Forged documents or credentials — we do not offer these tools, and you may not use our screenshots as substitutes.
  • Evidence tampering — presenting generated images as authentic in legal, journalistic or official contexts.
  • Removing fictional/parody context or otherwise misrepresenting output as genuine.

Fictional context stays mandatory

Exports are clean during the initial launch phase, but they remain fictional mock output. You must keep appropriate parody, lesson, prototype or fictional context and must never present a generated conversation as authentic evidence or communication.

Reporting misuse

If you've seen our output used to deceive, tell us at/report-misuse. We take misuse seriously — it's bad for the people harmed and bad for a tool that exists for honest creative work.
